Designers handbags sales up 5% in May 2016

Architectural designers handbags are selling off fast, and they’ve been doing so in a big way.

The International Business Times reports that handbag sales in the United States are up 5.5 percent in May, with an average sales price of $1,000, up from an average of $950 in March.

In Japan, sales rose 6.5% in the first nine months of the year, while sales in Spain were up 3.4 percent, according to market research firm Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.

In China, handbags were up 4.7 percent in the year-to-date, and sales are up by about 8.5%, according to data from eCommerce platform Alibaba.

In Brazil, handbag stores are reporting an average increase of 3.7% in sales over the past 12 months, the report says.

In the United Kingdom, hand bag sales rose 3.8 percent in 2017, according the Telegraph.
